Kate Kallot
Founder & CEO

Kate is the Founder & CEO of Amini, a leading AI startup building the Global South’s data infrastructure.

With over a decade of experience leading AI innovation at global tech companies such as NVIDIA, Intel, and Arm, she is a recognized expert regularly advising international organizations and governments.

She was named TIME100 Most Influential People in AI and One Young World Entrepreneur of the Year 2024.

Kate is currently Vice Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce Global Environmental and Energy Commission and member of EY’s Global AI Advisory Council.

Muthoni Karubiu
Chief Operations Officer

Muthoni is an East African tech operations leader with a background in securities investment, where she has a proven track record of building transformative technology solutions for underserved communities.

A passionate advocate for the power of data, Muthoni is dedicated to harnessing this potential to solve some of Africa’s most pressing challenges, including climate change, food security, and systemic development.

She believes that data-driven innovation can hyper-scale the economic, social, technological and sustainable transformation of the Global South.

Leonardo Araujo
Technology Lead

Leo has over two decades of experience in Machine Learning and hardware engineering.

Before Amini, Leo was Chief AI Scientist at Huawei and led the ML engineering team at ARM.

He also previously worked at Apple on the Apple Pencil handwriting recognition system and the Apple Watch Atrial Fibrillation detection.

Charlette N’guessan
Ecosystem & Data Solutions Lead

Charlette is a renowned AI and Data expert having won the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Africa Prize for Innovation for her work developing AI models for the continent.

Prior to Amini, Charlette was leading BACE, a company developing AI-powered facial recognition API solutions for remote identity verification for African businesses.

Charlette advises the African Union, where she helped draft a continental policy framework for artificial intelligence recommended by the African Union Panel on Innovation and Emerging Technologies (APET), and published the APET report entitled, “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Africa’s Socio-Economic Development.”

Clinton Oduor
Head of Data Science

Clinton is a member of the ITU Secretary General Youth Advisory Board, where he drafts recommendations to enhance worldwide cooperation in bridging the digital divide, connecting the unconnected and aligning ITU's programs with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Clinton previously worked with Edge Impulse where he enabled developers to build machine learning applications at the extreme edge of smart devices and sensors.

He cofounded and currently leads the third largest TinyML community in the world. He has previously built technology to prevent poaching, human-wildlife conflicts, and illegal wildlife trafficking.

Zoë Cayetano
Head of Platforms

Zoe is an experienced product leader, having hired and led product teams at Intel and AI startup Pathr where she also acted as Chief of Staff.

Zoe has developed edge AI solutions for enterprise customers, provided data consulting and insights, led market definition and product roadmap for new SAAS business at Intel bringing 20% additional revenue to the silicon business line.

Zoe has been recognized as 2020 VentureBeat's AI Rising Star Finalist.

Hezron Obuchele
Head of Engineering

Hezron is a seasoned software engineering leader with a track record of building high-performing teams and scalable technology solutions.

He has successfully bootstrapped engineering teams from the ground up, driving innovation across multiple domains. He spent nearly a decade as a Tech Evangelist for Mozilla, leveraging technology to expand information access and accelerate social and economic change.

Before Amini, he led several engineering teams at Gro Intelligence as a Site Engineering Manager and led the development of the company’s unified data platform.

Passionate about the intersection of technology, leadership, and impact, Hezron is dedicated to developing engineering excellence through both people and systems.
